About this page

When I got a 3.85kW set of solar panels installed, I was curious to see how well they would work in various seasons and weather conditions. I used the hardware from running on a Raspberry Pi to log the data, but wrote my own backend in python to collate it. The graphs are generated in your browser by plotly.js.

I found the site useful in visualising dawn and dusk. The house is in Edinburgh, and the panels are pointing roughly southwest, so peak generation is achieved slightly after solar noon.
